1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how CramPocket ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services. By using CramPocket, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect information necessary to provide and improve the CramPocket service, including:

  • Study material and generated content: Photos, notes, and PDFs you upload to create flashcards and quizzes.
  • Account and device continuity data: Information needed to keep you logged in and sync your study decks across devices (e.g., email address, device ID).
  • Analytics and app usage data: How you interact with the app, to help us improve performance and user experience.
  • Payment or subscription data: Processed securely by our app store partners (Apple App Store / Google Play). We do not collect or store raw credit card information.
  • Support request data: Email addresses and details provided when you contact us for help.

3. How Study Material is Used (AI Processing)

Your uploaded materials are processed to provide the service. Specifically:

  • Is uploaded study material used to generate outputs? Yes. We analyze the text and context in your photos, notes, and PDFs to create flashcards and quiz questions for you.
  • Are third-party AI providers used? Yes. We use industry-leading third-party AI service providers to process submitted material.
  • Is uploaded study material used to train models? No. We do not use your personal study materials to train our foundational AI models, and our third-party AI providers are contractually restricted from using your data for their model training.

4. Data Security & Storage

Encryption: All data transferred between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS). Data stored on our servers is encrypted at rest.

Data Retention: We keep your study material and generated decks as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, the associated personal data will be removed from our active servers within 30 days.

5. User Rights & Data Deletion

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, update, or request deletion of your personal data. Account Deletion: You can initiate account and data deletion directly within the CramPocket app by navigating to Profile > Settings > Delete Account. Alternatively, you can submit a manual deletion request by following the instructions on our Support page.

6. Children's Privacy

CramPocket does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions to remove that information from our servers.
